NoVa Synchro Coaches
Victoria Anderson
Coach Victoria competed in synchronized swimming for eight years, representing the Menomonee Falls Dolphinettes, the Ann Arbor Aquarians, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a zone (Level III) judge and works for the Nuclear Energy Institute. Her favorite part about coaching synchronized swimming is watching athletes improve while enjoying the sport.
Dana Berman
Coach Dana swam for and coached the Sequined Seahorses in Needham, MA for several years, and is an association figure (Level II-F) judge. She is currently a freshman studying biology at George Washington University.
Rachel Klein
Coach Rachel is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she competed in synchronized swimming for four years. She is a basic figure (Level I-F) judge and currently works for the National Institutes of Health.
Johanna Lauer
Coach Johanna is originally from Massachusetts and swam synchro for the Sequined Seahorses and the University of Pennsylvania. She currently works for the Center for Studying Health System Change.
Lauren Stankie
Coach Lauren recently graduated from Kent State University and started teaching in LaPlata, MD. She previously coached for the Brecksville Blue Dolphins and is an association (Level II) judge.
Meghan Welsh
Coach Meghan is from Wilbraham, Massachusetts where she swam on her high school synchronized swimming team at Minnechaug Regional High School. Meghan graduated from Providence College in 2006 and currently works for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, a national nightly news program broadcast on PBS. She is excited to begin the new challenge of coaching NoVa Synchro.
Becky Zakian
Coach Becky swam synchro for the Westfield Y Aquaducks and the Arizona Aqua Stars before attending the University of Richmond and competing for their synchronized swimming team. She currently works for the Advisory Board Company.
